The Clonliffe Men’s Masters Team put on a medal winning performance at the Leinster Road Race Championships held in Gowran, Co. Kilkenny on bank holiday Monday, May 6th. Official results are now to hand only available from Athletics Leinster today. The team was led home by Declan Power who finished 2nd and 1st O/40. Philip O’Doherty looks like he won silver O/50 was 27th. It was a strong Clonliffe team, one of the strongest Masters teams put out in a number of years and featured in addition to Declan Power and Philip O’Doherty, on his Clonliffe debut Davy Byrne was a strong 9th and Chris Muldoon who had made a welcome return to the form he showed last summer, was 11th and Pat Byrne, enjoying a new lease of life on his return to the Clonliffe fold. The team score of 49 points winning Leinster silver only an agonising point off gold won by Rathfarnham on 48 points.
