In the 800m races Hannah Browne in the U/15 girls produced a stunning run to knock a wopping 7 seconds off her best producing a new pb of 2.33.89 in finishing 6th in her heat. Lauren Carr also ran very strongly in her heat finishing 5th in 2.35.33.
Alannah Cooley was in excellent form running a very competitive heat to place 4th in 2.33.24 in the girls U/17 800 and progress to the final. Where some 90 minutes later she ran a new pb of 2.32.40 in placing 8th. A great effort.
Greg Hosseny was looking very good for three quaters of his boys U/17 800 heat leading the field in his heat, however, he was overhauled in the final 150m to place 6th in 2.11.31 and failed to progress to his final.
In all a very good experience for these athletes in Athlone and once from which all will benefit in the years to come. Well done all.
