Men lose out on Indoor league title on count back, women 3rd

The Clonliffe men`s team where within a whisker of winning the Glohealth National Indoor league today but lost out on count back. It was a dramatic finish in Athlone IT going right to the wire, the final event: the 4 x 200 relay,with Clonliffe and defending champions Leevale both on 62 points and Tallaght AC 2 behind. At the finish Tallaght took the  relay win to tie on points with Clonliffe and on count back Tallaght also took what may well be their first National team title. There were wins on the day for both Dave Donegan in the pole vault and Andre Heney in the high jump.

Results: 60m 4th Isreal Ibeanu 7.40, 60H 3rd Antino Garcia 8.67, 200m 2nd Chris Sibana 22.62, 400 2nd Kris Valters 50.39, 800m 7th Joseph Hession  2.08.04, 1500m 3rd Andriu Jenkinson 4.00.24, Long Jump 5th Antion Andjuar, triple jump 3rd Andrea Mahin 13.30, Pole Vault 1st Dave Donegan 4.65, Shot 3rd Michael Curley 11.41, High Jump 1st Andrew Heney 1.85, Relay 4 x 200m 2nd.

The women`s team put in very solid performances and finished in 3rd place. This team have improved week after week: round 1 the team lay 5th, after round 2 up to 4th and in the final 3rd. There was a fine win recorded in the triple jump by Aursa Jerumbauskyle of 11.01m. Great performances by Snezana Bechtina who was 2nd in the 200, 3rd in the PV and 4th in the long jump.
