Mick Kearney reports: This Saturday 4th March 2023 the curtain was finally brought down on the GP cross country season. On a mostly cloudy morning the 5K course was in excellent condition.
Peter Bissett and Dave Dunwoody battled it out from the start. However Peter found the extra momentum from the third lap to gain a valuable lead finishing in a time of 19:05. Dave Dunwoody clocked a time of 19:52 with Mick Bermingham third in a time of 20:59. Orla Deighan was first lady home in 23.35. Mick Gleeson took first place in the Grand Prix in 23:06.

The final race in the current series takes place on the track in ALSAA on Saturday 25thMarch 2023 at 9.45am (Note earlier time). This will be the Walker Cup 4 miles on the track.
Finally we would like to see all GP athletes taking part next Saturday, 11th March 2023, in the Poppintree Parkrun at 9.30am to mark International Women’s Day and “Women in Sports” week, 2023. All lads are welcome to join and support too.
