A couple of mid week fixtures attracted the attention of Clonliffe athletes yesterday. In Raheny the open road mile was used as a warm up by Becky Woods for Sunday`s National Road Relays, Becky won the women`s section of the race for the 2nd successive year in 4.59. Sean Doran was 12th overall in 4.52.
Yesterday afternoon the West Leinster Schools Medlay Relays took place in the Morton Stadium Cillian Forrester was on the winning Belvedere Minor team, while Ben Guiden ran the 600 for Belvedere`s juniors as they placed sixth. Ben then lined up in the open mile (all age groups) finishing 12th in 5.39. Ace reporter Kevin Loftus, also Belvedere, was 4th in the mile recording a time of 5.10.
