Mixed bag for Clonliffe overseas

It was very much a day of mixed blessings for Clonliffe athletes in track action overseas yesterday, Saturday the 10th. Efrem Gidey was in a very high class 5000 at the On: Track Nights Fast 5000 in Paris where regrettably severe blistering problems resulted in Efrem finishing 26th in a time of 13.53.07.

Chris Sibanda was in international duty on the Irish 4 x 100 team in Geneva however unfortunately the team had a problem and ended up DQ.

A much more positive outcome however at the New York City high school championships where Davey Davitt impressed in placing 2nd in the 400 hurdles in a new PB, and school record of 53.64.
