Dec 17, 2007 [Bronagh Ni Bhriain] The news is out at this stage thanks to Jeremy Walsh’s timely report last night. Clonliffe ladies are the National Novice XC Champions . This title is in addition to the many others collected in the past few months by the squad including Dublin Novice XC, Dublin Intermediate XC and Leinster Intermediate XC champions . You’ll agree there is no stopping these girls at the moment. What a great finsh to 2007 for everyone who has dedicated so much time and effort to training for the last few months.
Individual gold for Becky Woods , team and intercounty gold for Eleanor Alexander (8th), Ailish McDermott (13th) and Tara Whtye (23rd). . Karen Duggan made up the A team finishing 51st. Unfortunately Jacqui Dunphy, making a come back after her recent Dublin marathon had to pull up during the race with a hamstring problem. The B team also did well finishing 9th – Bronagh Ni Bhriain 38th, Rachel McBride 39th Sinead Hartnett, 74th and Carmel Morrissey, 88th .
With all these medals in their possession the girls will be having a well deserved rest over the Christmas before coming back in January to train and focus on the National Intermediate final in Wexford on 10th February.
A huge thanks to our supporters yesterday and of course the bus driver!
