National road relays 2011

Apr 18, 2011 [Ladies_Captain] A massive congratulations must go to the Ladies National Road Relay team of Eleanor Alexander, Becky Woods & Ailish McDermott who took the Bronze medal home.

Eleanor took the first 1 mile leg in a time of 5.14mins, the two mile leg was taken by Becky in 11.11mins and the final 1 mile leg to bring the ladeis home in 3rd place was Vice Captain Ailish in 5.37mins

It has been well over a decade since the Clonliffe Ladeis have taken a medal in this competition. Long may this sucess continue!!! Taking 1st place on the day was Sli Culann & 2nd place Raheny Shamrocks.

Our Senior team of Aidan Bailey, Conor Healy, Brian MacMahon and Michael MacDiarmada finished 6th in today’s National Road Relays in Raheny.

Aidan lead the team off with a 9.36 first leg to put the team in the mix. Conor Healy ran his now traditional one mile leg in 4.24 and handed over with the team in 3rd place. Brian MacMahon ran an even third leg split of 14.56 to keep us in the hunt, handing over in 4th place. Michael took off on the last leg with the National XC Champion Joe Sweeney on his tail. Holding on to the team position well, his time of 9.52 secured us 6th place.

The ‘B’ team of Stephen Harkness, Brian Tobin, Conor McGuiness and Eric McCann finished 12th. Their lap times were also impressive – 9.54, 4.40, 15.32 and 10.41.
