Patrick wins national 200

Jul 19, 2009 [Noel Guiden] Young sprinter Patrick O`Connor had an exceptionally busy and successful weekend. First off he represented Ireland in the SIAB Schools International in Antrim where he placed equal 5th in the 100m in 11.20 and was also 5th in the 200 in 22.83, then he followed that up by winning the National U/17 200m title in Tullamore today in 22.89. Clubmate and training companion Stuart Roche won bronze in that race in 23.77. Congratulations to them both.

Also in action in Tullamore at today`s National Juvenile T & F were two of our young field eventers Safari Aketch was 7th in the boys U/16 Discus with a best of 32.43m and Simon Gilligan was also 7th in the U/15 Hammer (22.55).
