Fine PBs were recorded by both Clonliffe men in Saturday’s National U/23 5000 held at a sun drenched Morton Stadium. Ben Guiden clocked his 3rd PB in as many races and at three different distances with a very measured run to 6th place and a fine 15.06.33, knocking in excess of 30 seconds off his PB. Thomas Baltazar fresh from his club 800 B win, also in a new PB on Thursday night shaved 3 seconds off his best running 16.53.82.
Day 2 today saw Niall Carbery place 10th in the U/20 1500 in 4.08.75 as he continues his excellent season. There was an unexpected silver taken by Sadhbh Byrne in the women’s u/23 3000 SC (14.34.03).
In the US, yesterday Dave Fitzmaurice was 2nd in the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon in Duluth, Minnesota in a superb 65.54.
