The 15th Race in the current Clonliffe Grand Prix Series took place in the Trinity Sports Ground on Saturday morning 9 November 2024. The ground conditions for the 6km cross country race were excellent. In cloudy and relatively mild conditions 37 runners came to the start line for this historical race. The course involved six laps of the inner perimeter of the Trinity Sports Ground. The runners were set on their way by starter Maurice Ahern.
Sean Doran took the lead from the start and set a blistering pace to finish first in a time of 00:19:38. In second place was James Dunne putting in a solid performance coming home in a time of 00:22:40. In third place was Mick McMahon finishing strongly in 00:23:06. The first woman home and making a return to form finishing in 00:28:10 was Catherine Harvey. Maura Matthews was second in 00:28:28.Orla Deighan was third in 00:29:14.

Peter Cahill wins the Irwin Cup: In the Grand Prix event Peter Cahill recorded his first GP win of the season winning the Irwin Cup. James Dunne came second with Dermot Breslin third. Congratulations to all three. The presentation for this event will take place on Thursday 14th November 2024 in the Clonliffe Club House.
Next Race: The rescheduled 10,000m race takes place on Thursday evening 14th November at 7.45pm. Given the number of laps and to facilitate the race result runners will need to check in and wear their bib number.
