Results of National novice and juvenile cross country

Dec 12, 2006 [Noel Guiden] The results of Sturday`s Nationals in Athlone are now available with Individual Gold taken by Sergiu in the mens Novice, team gold by our boys U/17 and also a number of our Juvenile athletes taking home County medals.

The placing in the men`s Novice were: Sergiu (1), David Lipscome(57), Conor Healy(62), Ronan Hartnett(90), Nourredine Aussoi(112) and Joseph Cooper(141). The team placed 9th.

Our Ladies Novice team placed 9th led home by Fionnula Doherty(34), Bronagh (38) and Marie Byrne(73).The other girls were Annette Johnasson 977), Etain Alyward(80) and Grainne O`Brien(89)

In the Girls U/19 our sole competitor was Becky Woods who finished 4th, but also won County gold.

Boys U/19: Eoin Pearce (25), Brian Gallagher (49), Dara Boylan(53) and Tennyson Firth (61).

Boys U/17 team which took team gold were Colm Murray (7),David Fitzmaurice(13), Tony Kavanagh(14),and Mark McDonald (15) backed up by Eoin McDonnell(18) and David Murphy (50). These lads formed the backbone of the winning Dublin team with Colm, David,Tony, Mark and Eoin scorring for their county.

The girls U/15 team of Jessica O`Neill (15), Sarah O`Neill(51), Denise O`Callaghan(79), Niamh Hussey(132) and Emma Preston(137) finished 10th team. Jessica was rewarded for her run with County Gold.

Jacque Fay was also on the winning Dublin team in 37th place in the boys U/15s. The Clonliffe team of Jacque, Tomas Aylward (81), Graham Ryan(89) and Darragh Campbell(118) were 12th.

In the U/13s both our girls and boys teams place 14th. The girls: Laura Preston(82), Leah Bergin(85), Laura Brennan(116), Nikita Canning(133) and Niamh Lowney(139). The boys places were: Wayne Plunkett(114), Eoin McDonnell(117), Adam Greene(119) and Aaron Wade(121)
