Roads round up: Women win in Dunleek

There was a good contingent of Clonliffe athletes competing in the Duleek 5 K road race in Co Meath this afternoon. It was a couple of course, particularly with the very strong cold headwind. The Clonliffe women took the team prize led home in 3rd place by Julie Larkin who ran a new PB of 18.45, 4th woman, also running a PB, was Hannah Browne (18.56) with 6th woman Meghan O’Keeffe, in her 1st race since the Dublin Marathon (19.24) making up the scoring 3 that took the 1st team prize.

Sean Doran was the 1st Clonliffe athlete home in 8th place (17.06) , he along with Stephen Harkness (17.57) and David Brady (18.16) were 2nd men’s team (although there was no prize!). Full Clonliffe results from Duleek:

In County Cork at the Kinsale 10 Mile, held in pretty unfavourable conditions to say the least, Sergiu Ciobanu was 3rd in 53.38. Also competing was Clodagh Galvin 76.59.

Eoin Maguire ran a huge Half Marathon PB of 78.00 in finishing an excellent 3rd place in the Nenagh Half in Tipperary.

Also a mention yesterday of Fintan Kerins who won a Park run in Newcastle, England in 15.44, making it dual Clonliffe representation was Liam Roarty in 12th position.
