Even though it was virtually all hands on deck for this week`s Morton Games other activities continued. On Tuesday evening David Brady was 5th in the Bettystown 5 mile in 28.58., Andrew Eustace 35.37, Anne Lyons 40.42. Wednesday saw Sean Doran win the Dublin City Council 5k road race in Irishtown with Tom Sherlock 3rd and Yvonne McDonagh 2nd woman O/45.
At the Graded Meet on Wednesday in Tallaght Snezana Bechtina won the 400 in 58.13. Eoghan Murphy was 2nd in 1500 grade C (4.34.23) and the one and only Frances Mansfield was once again in action 3rd in the !KG discus with a best of 17.37m.
Today Saturday and Brian MacMahon won the Punchestown 5k (17.21)
Also today was a proud day for young Clonliffe and St. Aidans athlete Alex Murray and his family as he ran for the Irish Schools team at the SIAB Schools in Grangemounth, Scotland in the steeple chase. Alex placed 5th and in the process helped the Irish team to a 2nd place finish.
