Clonliffe’s national 1500 champions, Cathal Doyle (outdoors) and Eoin Pierce (indoor) were both in action in today’s BMC indoor Grand Prix in Sheffield. Cathal continued 2024 in the same rich vein of form from last year, clocking a new 3000 pb of 8.02.28 in placing 7th in a high calibre race. Eoin Pierce was 6th in the 1500 A recording a time of 3.54.07.
Yesterday Liam Roarty, also in England, finished 30th in the Sherman Cup cross country race in Temple Park, South Shields.
Some of the Clonliffe middle distance women’s team took in various Park runs yesterday, Sarah Hawkshaw was 1st woman in Malahide (20.39), Jools Hughes was 2nd woman (21.30), Aoife Kinehan was 1st woman in the Kilkenny Park run (23.13) and in the Donabate Park run Katie Halpin ran 23.15.
