A bright and frosty start for the Clonliffe U/15s to junior women on Saturday morning in St. Anne`s for the Parkrun making it a welcomed “break” from training. A squad of seven braved the early start meeting well before 9.00 to be warmed up and ready to roll at 9.30. First home from the group and 4th woman was Abbie Sheehy in 21.19, closely followed by Sarah Bateson 21.22 and then the rest of the group half a minute later: Tess Loftus 21.57, Aoife Hession 22.01, Hannah Browne 22.08, Katie Halpin 22.12 and Cara Curran Beggs. A mention also of, someone who never gets a mention, Kevin Sheehy 21.34. Next up for the group is the Club Cakes Races on Tuesday for the U/15s and Thursday for the old stagers!
Sunday: David Flynn won the Drogheda and District 5k road race in a new course record of 14.57.
