Great to see Clonliffe Harrier Sarah McCormack back racing on her true love – the mountains. Over the weekend Sarah was 5th in one of the biggest and most prestigious mountain races in Europe, the Sierre-Zinic mountain race in Switzerland, over a distance of 31K and featuring a lung bursting assent of 2100 M. Sarah’s time was 3: 04.12. Just by way of brief refresher course Sarah was the last Clonliffe woman to win the national senior cross-country in 2014, she was also a member of the Irish team that won European club cross country gold in Budapest in 2012.
Also yesterday Laura Power currently living and working in Australia ran her 1st race since leaving these shores. The City2Surf 14 K race from Sydney to Bondi beach. Laura ran a time of 60.07 finishing 1215th woman, out of 21,353 and 1484th overall from 46,457!
