With all either focusing on tomorrow’s Dublin cross country in Santry or recovering from the exertions of last week’s Dublin Marathon it was not unexpectedly a very quiet day on the racing front today. No doubt there were Clonliffe athletes taking in their local Park run, including some of the clubs intermediate squad who took in the Poppintree Park Run where Jack Woods took 1st place in 16.58. In Canada Laura Tuite ran 18.12 in the Hamilton 5k elite road race finishing 53rd overall and 20th woman – 1st woman was Canadian Tokyo 1500 Olympian Lucia Stafford 15.38!
On Wednesday evening, November 1 Lee Maginnis was 1st in the Raheny autumn classic 2 mile series, around 3, clocking 11.50.
Last Saturday, October 28, in the US, Sean Kay was 18th in the Ivy league Heptagonal Cross Country in 24.38 in Franklin Park, Boston.
