Stephen Scullion won the post lockdown Down Royal Race Course 10k yesterday in a new course record of 29.13. Later he followed that up with a surprising announcement on Twitter: “Today was my last race, I’ve decided to retire.” He went on to say that he’ll talk about the reasons for his decision at a later time. Stephen has since clarified things and we are delighted to hear will be battling on. It’s a tough time for all at present and we all need to support one another. Stephen and all our athletes have the absolute support of Clonliffe Harriers. Nil desperandum.
