Sergiu adds Ballycotton to collection

Mar 7, 2011 [Noel Guiden] Clonliffe’s Sergiu Ciobanu added the Ballycotton 10 to his long list of titles when he won the prestigious event in the county Cork village yesterday in a new PB of 49.37. This was an excellent performance by Sergiu who is coming back into good form once again and has well recovered now from the illness which affected him in the European Clubs Cross Country in Milan, Sergiu of course showed a welcome return to form at last weekend’s Nationals and his PB yesterday and winning margin of the best part of half a minute over Bantry A.C.s Alan O’Shea demonstrates that he is coming back into the right form as we approach half marathon and Spring marathon time.

Other Clonliffe results from Ballycotton show once again another very good run by Declan Power 22nd and 2nd M40 in 54:17. Kieran Murphy 157nd in 62.20, a new PB for Kieran taking 8 seconds off his previous best as he heads towards his Spring Marathon, Jeremy Chapman also had a very good run 162nd in 62.32. Gerard Kirwan 248th in 65.16 Alan Worrell ran 65:22 for 255th place
