National Cross Country Champion Sergiu Ciobanu completed his preparations for next Sunday`s European Clubs Cross Country with a 5th place finish in the John Treacy 10 Mile in Dungarvan today in a time of 50.34. Joining him in the County Waterford race were Declan Power 30th (56.29), Kieran Murphy (62.07) for 123rd and Maurice McCrohan 130th with a time of 62.40.
At the Raheny 5 Mile also on Sunday the club`s first finisher of the almost 30 Harriers there was Tudor Mircea 13th in 26.02. There was successful for Clonliffe in the juvenile race at Raheny held just before the 5 miler as Abbie Sheehy took a fine win in the U/12 800m race. In the U/16 one mile race Hannah Browne also ran an excellent race to finish 5th.
Finally on the weekend round up Mark McDonald took in an indoor meet in London where he recorded a time of 1.56.73 in a tactical 800, having gone through a 58 second opening 400.
