The 2024 Clonliffe Harriers GP Series was formally concluded at a Gala Prize Presentation in the Clonliffe Harriers Club House on Saturday evening 7th of December 2024. The Series, consisting of 17 races, started back in March 2024 with the Frank White 5 Mile in Morton Stadium and concluded with the Horan Cup 6 Mile Cross Country Race in Trinity Sports Ground on Saturday 23rd November 2024. This year’s Series was very competitive with a number of athletes in contention for the top prize. When all the calculations were completed this year’s worthy winner was Shane Rooney. A delighted Shane was presented with the Noel Guiden (Snr) Memorial Trophy. Shane competed in every race in this year’s Series, all 17 races. The series is decided on the basis of the points achieved by an athlete in their best 10 races. Shane’s winning points were 548. In close pursuit and in second place putting in a strong performance was Sean Grimes with 541 points. In third place and having a successful season was Orla Deighan with 512 points.

The Grand Prix Committee would like to thank all those who contributed to the success of this year’s Series. It was great to see so many athletes competing in such numbers. The participation of sister clubs Ballymun AC and Coolock AC was a welcome development this year. The help and assistance given by all the Club coaches and Club Captains in facilitating track races was greatly appreciated.
