The Irish Varsities Indoor Championships took place at Athlone IT on Friday kicking off a busy weekend of athletics. Clonliffe athletes took four titles. Chris Sibanda was 1st in the 60m 6.91, with Leo Morgan 2nd on the same time. Chris later took bronze in the 200 (21.75). Also taking in the sprints was Pierce Friel who ran 7.40 in his heat. Over the 400 Dara Kervick who his heat in 50.35 to qualify for the final but was a DNS. Leah Bergin ran 59.11 in her heat.
In the field events Keith Marks took the long jump with a 6.98m jump. Andrew Heney with a 1.95m won the high jump and Luke Mangan won the 16 weight for distance (9.68m) and was 5th in the shot (12.71m).
Finally back on the track in the 3000 Eoin Taggart recorded 9.06.50 8th overall and Eoin McCullough 9.11.70, 10th overall.
