Silver and Gold at Leinster Indoors

The Leinster junior, senior and master indoor Championships took place at NIA Abbottstown today. Once again there were some fine performances from the Clonliffe athletes competing. Pride of place went to Leinster senior women’s high jump champion Shannon Sheehy with a PB/club record equalling 1.75m winning jump and then adding another string to her bow taking silver in the 60 H with a new PB of 8.70. Silver also for Leah Bergin in the senior 200 in a new indoor PB of 25.99. Likewise silver for Laura Tuite in the senior 3000 with a huge PB of 10.30.38. Leo Morgan was also a silver medallist in the senior 60 (6.94).

Niall Sherlock took M 35 gold in the 800 (2.14.82) in the women’s junior 3000 Sarah Bateson placed 5th (11.03.10) with Aoife Hession 7th (11.26.55). Emer Treacy in her first race in sometime placed third in her 200 heat (29.75). Rolus Oulsa was also in action in the combined events, today he won the high jump with a best of 1.95, won the long jump 6.79 and was second in the 60 (7.31), Rolus will continue in that competition tomorrow.

Note: missed from last weekend’s indoor results from the US. Hope Saunders was 6th in the 3000 at the Gorilla Classic, Pittsburgh on Feb 14th in a time of 10.46.78.
