Gold & Silver Masters

Clonliffe master athletes came back from Tullamore today laden down with glitter from the National Masters Track Field which took place in blistering temperatures at the Offaly venue. It was the 5000 that delivered most success with Cathal McHale impressing as he took M35 silver in 16.04.39, 5th was Tom Sherlock (16.13.89) with Karl Nolan 6th (16.36.81) Philip O’Doherty also claimed silver in the M60 (18.48.98), with Tom Monks 7th (22.21.35).

Frances Mansfield claimed W75 hammer silver (17.13). Joe Gibbons was 5th in the M60 Javelin (15.33).

In the sprints new Clonliffe man Darryl Pigot took M55 200 silver (27.36), Darryl was also 5th in the 100 (13.56) and 7th in the 400 (66.07). Silver also for Niall Sherlock in the M35 400 in 57.36, Niall was also 5th in the 1500 (4.53.69).

The one and only Matt Slattery broke ranks to bag gold in the M70 200 (30.4) , a source says this is Matt’s 8th 200 title!
