It being a thankfully long long weekend there was plenty of road running available throughout the length and breath of the country. In Belfast on St. Patrick’s day the Craic 10k saw Emma Mitchell finish 1st woman, and 14th overall, in 34.39. Also on St. Patrick’s Day Ger Clerkin took in the Mullingar Half Marathon running 78.19 and in the Streets of Portlaoise 5k Joseph Cooper clocked 19.20.
Today, Sunday saw down south Sergiu Ciobanu win the Mallow 10 Mile in a time of 50.56 and closer to home Sean Doran won the MSB St. Patrick’s Festival 5k Cross Country in Abbotstown very comfortably in 16.25 with a winning margin of over a minute.
At the Windmill Run, which incorporated the Dublin 10k Road championships Tudor Mircea made it the 3rd Clonliffe win of the day as he took a comfortable win in 32.34. Others, 17th Mick Gleeson 42.22, 31st Sean Grimes 44.50, 40th Declan Grant 46.05, 41st Laura Kernan 46.05, 73rd Anne Lyons 50.04.
