Stateside News: Doyler the flying Pilot! (Plus Hope helps Wichita to 2nd)

Cathal Doyle got his US collegiate season off to a flying start for the University of Portland placing 4th in his debut for The Pilots yesterday. It was a real case of local rivalry between the Portland and Oregon at the Oregon Invitational XC over 8k race, after the first 2.5k Cathal was 9th and then worked his way to 5th at 5k before coming home in a very solid 4th place in 24.26.1 3rd scorer for the winning Pilots squad.

Today, Saturday the 6th, Hope Saunders had a fine run for Wichita State at Conference held at the 4 Mile Creek, Augusta over 6k XC. Hope clearly work her way into the race nicely, at the 3k mark she was 32nd (11.00.7), at 5k was up to 30th (18.49.3) to finish in 27th place (22.32.1) and 5th scorer for the Shockers who for the 2nd successive year were runner up to Tulsa.
