Sunday was a busy enough day for Clonliffe athletes. At the Templemore Throws Festival both Eoin Sheridan and Simon Galligan got their season’s off to winning starts. Eoin won the discus with 53.14 and Simon with a 60.21 won the hammer.
The Great Ireland run took place in the Phoenix park with a 9 am start. There were 2448 finishers and a healthy contingent of Clonliffe Harriers entries including many from the Fit4Life programme. First home for Clonliffe was Ronan Fitzpatrick in 37:50 with newly minted Harrier Jack Lafferty running a pb of 38:39. First Clonliffe woman was Sarah Owens in a 47:09 PB.

At the Paris Marathon Natalia Lungu, demonstrated that son Matei Ursachi isn’t the only athlete in the household, with an excellent 3:13. Noel O’Dwyer, 3:14.51 in the Newport Marathon.
Also Garrett Loy in the Wexford Half Marathon 1:22.48 for 13th place.
