David Mansfield had a very good run in today`s John Treacy Dungarvan 10 Mile to finish 2nd in 52.39. A good run also by Declan Power 6th, and 2nd M/45 in 54.00. Barbara Sanchez was 3rd senior woman in 58.49.
At the National Indoor Arena there was strong Clonliffe representation. First off with the middle distance athletes, young Cian Bolger won his 800 in 2.04.43, Orna McGinley was 6th in her 800 in 2.27.03 and Cathal Doyle in his first indoor race ran 8.35.24 placing 7th in the 3000.
In the 60m there were a couple of races on offer. In series 1 Leo Morgan ran 7.00 placing 3rd and later 7.07. Keith Pike ran 7.11 and later 7.08. Gary Scott recorded a time of 7.40 and Stuart Roche 7.42.
Snezana Bechtina recorded a time of 58.85 in finishing 4th in her 400, while Leah Bergin won her 400 in 59.03 with Emma Kelly 4th in 61.55. Isreal Ibeanu won his 200 in 23.35 and Gary Scott ran 24.13 placing 4th in his 200.
Niall Counihan with a 13.85m best was 2nd in the triple jump. 2nd also for Keith Marks in the long jump with a 7.07m best. In the 1500s Eimear O`Brien was 8th with a 4.45.41 time and Richard Owens clocked 3.58.31 for 6th in the men`s race.
