Sean Doran was 1st Harrier home in this morning’s Sportsworld AC 5 mile road race in Terenure this morning he finished 8th in 27.01. Back in Santry the Dublin graded meet number 2 took place in Morton Stadium. Grace Casey was the winner in the women’s javelin competition with a best of 41.81. Frances Mansfield was competing in yet another track and field season in the discus with a best of 11.76. Lauren Carr was 6th in her heat of the 200 grade A in 25.87. In grade B Snezana Bechtina 27.21 and later 27.44. The 5000 men’s race combined all grades – the order in which the Clonliffe athletes finished was Cian Murray, Aaron Murray, Colm Lundy and Tadgh Cowley (due to technical difficulty no times are available). Stephen Bailey took 3rd place in the javelin with a 38.01 best thrown. Ed Tottenham finished 2nd in the 1500 grade A in a 3.58.33 PB with Matei Ursachi 6th (4.02.88). In the B race Abdi Ali Maow was 4th (4.08.21). In the C race Aedan Benjacar matched the result of older brother Lorcan yesterday, finishing 2nd (4.13.22), Ian McAlweeney was 9th (4.23.75). Ben Power was 13th in the 1500 D race 5.21.42.
Next Graded Meet is May 22nd in Tallaght with the Dublin 10,000 championship, 400, Mile and shot on the programme.
Also Sunday Sergiu Ciobanu won the Clonmel 10k in 32.34.
