Sunny times at UCD

With passports duly stamped the Clonliffe crew travelled to leafy South Dublin for the UCD Athletics Meet on what was an unseasonable Summer’s evening……..the sun was shining!

It was great to see Marcus Lawler get back in the blocks after recent injury and put in 2 positive runs. In series 1 Marcus was 2nd clocking 10.42 (wind +3) and in series 2 again 2nd but faster, 10.36 (+2.7). Keith Pike went 10.79 and 10.77 in the same races, while Pierce Friel in series 1 B ran 11.05.

Niamh Kelly ran an excellent race in the 800 B to snatch the win in a new PB of 2.11.62, putting herself 12th on the Clonliffe all time list.

Sean Cronin was 3rd in the men’s A 800 in 1.54.33 with Fintan Kerins 9th, 1.56.68. Jack Maughan was 7th in the B race (1.58.73).

In the 1500 B race Sean Carrigg battled like the proverbial dog to a great win in 3.59.92 with Ed Tottenham 5th in 4.01.25.
