Nov 2, 2008 [Noel Guiden] At the Dublin (even ages) Juvenile Cross country held in St. Annes, Raheny our U/16 boys team of Fintan Doherty (6th), Ian Guiden (8th), Craig Commiskey (15th) Johnathan Ward (18th) and Niall Hanlon took team silver, with excellent runs from all, particularily as Ian, Craig and Niall are still U/15 and will be in action in next weeks uneven ages. Both Fintan and Ian also qualified for the Dublin Team for the Nationals. The U/16 girls finished out of the medals, however both Elaine Begley and Hannah Logue were selected for the Dublin Team.
First race of the day was the U/10 girls where Grace Chapman had a great run to finish 10th, a great run also from Moya McDermott. In the boys U/10 Keith Hodson was 13th, Rory Kerins was 15th. In the girls U/12 we had three girls, Laura Tuite, Fiannant Blythe and Emma Rock all of whom ran very well. In the boys race Sean McLoughlin placed 12th, again good runs from Matthew Dobbyn, Peter Taylor and Luke Dalton.
The U/14 girls Rachael Murray (15th), Alex Philbin and Ciara Lynott all ran well, however were short of runners to make up a full team . The U/14 boys also ran well with John Buckley 23rd, David Hussey 31st,Conor Dalton 38th and Shane Donnelly 38th.
Well done to Raheny Shamrocks on a very well run event.
