The Clonliffe U/20 men and women’s teams arrived at the AP Adriana Beach resort, Albufeira at lunchtime on Friday afternoon for tomorrow’s European Champion Clubs Cross Country. Following check in with the Event Organisers they were able to rest and stretch their legs in the resort grounds. The evening was for rest and relaxation.
Today, Saturday, following an early breakfast they all ran to the course in the early afternoon where they had the opportunity to run a couple of laps to familiarise themselves with the inclines and the twists and turns that awaits them tomorrow.
The Clonliffe teams have been confirmed and declared. Both the men and womens teams are the first four from the National Cross Country Championships in Enniskillen last November.

The U/20 women’s team for the ECCC is: Lorraine O’Connor, Emily Bolton, Hazel Kenny and Goda Buivydyte.
The U20 men’s team is: Sean Cronin, Tom Breslin, Matei Ursachi and Lorcan Benjacar.

The scoring format is 4 to run with 3 score.
The other two squad members and Development Squad will all take part in the Open Races which follows the European Club Championship. Sorcha O’Connor and Isla Duncan will go in the open women’s race and in the open men’s race: Harry Bogan, Leon Brady, Aidan Benjacar, Jack Quinn, Rory Quill, Harry Lynam and Cillian Keegan.
