Teams well out of medals in Dundalk

Dundalk IT hasn`t been a particularly happy hunting ground for Clonliffe Harriers in recent times and unfortunately that trend continued for today`s National Intermediate and Masters Cross Country.

The intermediate men lead home by Conor Keane in 34th place finished 7th overall. Placings: Sean Doran 43rd, Richard Mannion 57th, David Brady 62nd, Gareth Williams 66th.

The Intermediate women placed one better in 6th: Bernadette Kiernan 20th, Louise Caraher 30th, Maura Matthews 35th, Emma Cooper 37th, Brid Beausang 44th and Emer Brennan 48th.

The Master races drew huge fields the Clonliffe men were well down the pecking order: 133rd Jeremy Chapman, 193 Tom Monks, 203 Stephen Treacy, 207 Fergal O`Shea, 209 Alan Worrall, 238 Declan Murray, 242 Pat Devitt.

Pat Bonass placed 5th in the O/70 race.

First home in the Master women`s race was Catherine Dempsey 114th, Aideen Brady 123rd, Emer Doyle 131st, Aideen O`Connor 141st, Helen O`Sullivan 195th. (errors/omissions text 0879599888).
