The 2022 Clonliffe Roll of Honour

As we are only a couple of days away from Christmas and heading towards the year’s end it is always nice to look back. 2022 has proved to be an exceptionally successful year for Clonliffe Harriers. Despite the impact of Covid and then the fragmentation caused due to the unavailability of our Morton Stadium headquarters the clubs athletes and coaches managed to pull together to make this year one of the most successful in the long and storied history of the club.

On the team front the senior men captured 3 of the 4 National ‘majors’: the national track and field league, the national road relays and the national cross country. Throw into the mix the capturing of the National 5k and 10 Mile Championships, the Northern Ireland Road Relay Championship and the Dublin Cross Country it makes for a pretty impressive haul. Meanwhile our senior ladies continue to make great strides forward taking team medals in the national intermediate and novice cross country and the national 5 K Road championships.

Individually the clubs athletes captured three national senior titles. There were also three new club senior record set in 2022.

Clonliffe stats man Killian Lonergan has been busy updating the 2022 performance lists. They are attached below and make very interesting reading with almost 70 new entries with 34 of those now entering the top 10 lists. The most prolific athlete stats wise was the 2022 Clonliffe men’s track and field athlete of the year Cathal Doyle for top 10 entries – 800, 1500, mile and 5000. Killian has also prepared an up-to-date list of club records, not just for seniors but also our club records at U/23 and U/20. Again this is attached below.
