Track & Field round up: Leinster indoors and spring throws

Athlone was the venue for yesterday’s Leinster indoor championships. Brian Gregan continued his comeback winning the Leinster senior 400, 48.09, improving on his time from the Connacht indoors. Pierce Friel took silver in the senior 60 in a time of 7.20. Niall Allen did the double in the M50 throws taking the shot with a best of 12.13 and the WFD with a 8.46 effort. A golden double also for Matt Slattery in the M 70 category winning the 200 in 30.46 and the 400 in 72.14. George Maybury also took gold in the M 70 1500 (6.39.39). Congratulations to Edel Maguire, the Leinster Master athlete of the year, Rolus Olusa the Dublin county senior athlete of the year and to Clonliffe Harriers athletes and coaches, the track and field team of the year, all of which were honoured at yesterday’s Leinster indoors.

Also yesterday, the 9th, the spring throws competition took place in Templemore where Ava Cosgrave took 3rd place in the U/14 javelin with a new PB of 17.43. (No other results from Templemore yet available text/message 0879599888 with your result).
