Gerry Carr reports: The curtain came down on the domestic juvenile season today with the national relays taking place in Tullamore. Clonliffe were represented by two girl’s teams. In the U/17 4 x 100m we finished in an agonising 4th place with Ava rapidly closing on both 2nd and 3rd but the finish line came too soon. It was a great team effort from Sorcha, Rebecca, Hazel and Ava. On then to the U/16 team where Rebecca and Ava were jointed by Sarah and Ciara. After advancing impressively through the heats the under 16 girls final was the last event on the programme. With some excellent baton changes on all changeovers it turned into a shootout between Clonliffe and Ratoath. The Clonliffe girl’s prevailed and are now the national under 16 4 x 100m champions. Huge congrats to the team and thanks to everyone who travelled down to support them today.
