The Clonliffe U/19 boys team of Jaydon Carroll, Christopher Lynch, James Duane and Bilal Kanimodo where the club’s star performers yesterday, the 24th at the Dublin juvenile indoor relays held in Abbottstown, the team taking bronze in the 4 x 200 relay in a time of 1.37.34. This bronze was up graded to silver following a DQ. Today Sunday the U/19 mixed relay team of Rebecca Walsh, Emily Jachna, Christopher Lynch, Bilal Kanimodo did likewise.
The U/13 boys team also put in a notable performance, winning their heat and then finishing in 4th position in the final, just out of the medals
There were a total of 11 Clonliffe teams taking part in the weekend’s championships, all will benefit enormously from the experience. The boys and girls all gave it their best shot, the following is a summary of the results:
U/12 girls – heat 2, 6th place. Heat 5, 2nd place.
U/12 boys – heat 2, 3rd place.
U/13 boys – heat 2, 1st place. Final 4th place.
U/14 girls – heat 5, 4th place.
U/14 boys – heat 1, 4th, heat 4, 5th.
U/18 girls – heat 1, 3rd place.
U/19 boys – bronze.
Today in the mixed 4 x 200 relays the U/19 team of Rebecca Walsh, Emily Jachna, Christopher Lynch, Bilal Kanimodo took bronze in a time of 1.37.34.
The U/17 mixed relay team of Zoe Mulligan, Harriet Kenny, Tadgh Cowley, Sam O’Reilly were just out of the medals placing 4th.
