The final day of the GloHealth National Juvenile Championships took place in Tullamore today. The 4 Clonliffe Harriers teams, all girls, performed with distinction. Both the U/14`s and U/16`s battled away through semi finals to take their places with the top 8 teams in Ireland in the 4 x 100 finals.
The U/14s Ella Brown, Rachel Fagan, Abby Sheehy and Amy Hodson, with Vicky McDonnell in reserve, put in a great effort in their heat and were fast enough to go through to the All Ireland final as fastest losers. The going was tough in the final but again great battling qualities from the girls, all of whom are middle distance athletes, all the way to the line for 8th place.
The U/16s, Rebecca Fitzsimons, a start performer stepping up from U/15, Amy Connolly, Kate Howlett and Lauren Carr were superb, 3rd in their semi and a battling 7th in a super fast final.
Good runs also today from the u/15`s: Rebecca Fitzsimons, having a busy day, Tess Loftus, Caitlin Butler and Katie Connolly and the U/13`s: Aoife Hession, Emma McDonnell, Holly Roche and Alana Fitzsimons (and reserves Ella Cooley and Sian O`She)
