For obvious reasons the only Clonliffe athletes racing are the Wild Geese. Yesterday, Saturday the 10th Liam Roarty ran for his UK club Morpeth Harriers in the North Eastern Counties Cross Country Relays at Thornley Park in County Durham. A good 3,000 leg saw Liam record a time of 10.04 on a testing hilly course which ended up being the 13th fastest time of the race, as Liam’s team finished in 6th place overall, before a technical issue saw them DQd.
Also racing last night in the US was Hope Saunders for Wichita State at the Wichita State Open in the Cessna Stadium. Hope placed 16th in the 1500 in 5.00.11.
