Weekend round up

Again the activity is increasing but once again it’s notable that there are zero racing opportunities for athletes in Dublin. Why?

This weekend saw Tudor Mireca continue his build up towards the Romanian Marathon Championships on October 31st with a 12th place finish in today’s (September 19th) Porto Half Marathon in 68.55.

Closer to home Sean Doran won the Ras Gaelscoil 7k Road Race in Navan in 22.39.

Yesterday saw several club members head West to Louisburgh, Co. Mayo for the Clew Bay Half Marathon and 10k. In the half Maura Matthews was 24th in 1.36.59 with Sinead McDermott close behind in 26th (1.38.13). In the 10K: Emma Harding 44.57, Rachel Eustace 45.49, Alison O’Sullivan 52.29, Emer Brennan 55.55, Emma Cooper 55.59, Catherine Dempsey 57.33.

Also yesterday in England Liam Roarty ran the Northern Six Stage Relay for the Morpeth Harriers B team in Redcar. Liam was on the 2nd leg covering the 6k in 20.32 as his team placed 26th out of 72.
