It was yet another busy weekend for the clubs athletes, apart from the National indoors Clonliffe athletes were in action on the indoor track, country and roads both home and away.
Friday, Craig Duffy continued his excellent form for Brockport this time over 400 at Nazareth University, Rochester, NY. Craig ran a fast 2nd leg in the 4 x 400, 50.1, as his team took 1st place in 3.20.37 and qualified for the regional finals. Craig has also qualified both in the 60 and 200.
Saturday, the 17th, Central Bank of Ireland BHAA 4 mile cross country in Kiltipper Park, Tallaght Mark McDonald 3rd, 26.11, Sean Doran 9th, David Brady 17th. Orla Deignan was 3rd W50, also Yvonne McDonagh, Colm Doran. Results bhaa.ie
In the USA it’s great to report on the return to racing of Gavin Cougle. Gavin raced for Butler University at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday at South Bend, Indiana finishing 4th in the 400 in 48.44 and later 2nd in the 200 21.86.
Sunday Gary O’Hanlon clocked an excellent 2:24.18 in the Seville marathon with Eoin Taggart 2.26.16.
