Saturday the 19th : The IUAA cross country championships took place in Cork. In the men’s race Jack Maughan was the 1st Clonliffe finisher, in the colours of TCD, 67th, Jack Woods (TCD) was 70th, Cian Murray (DCU) was 81st, Oren Kenny (TCD) 98 and Evan Lynch (TCD) was 100th. In the women’s race Hazel Kenny (TCD) was 41st with Sarah Bateson (MU) 54th.
Further afield Laura Tuite was back racing in Toronto, Canada finishing 15th woman from a huge field in the Toronto Waterfront 5k in 18.17.
Also, Saturday, Clonliffe Juvenile coach Graham Mahon completed a grueling Ironman, the 70.3 Cascais in Portugal. The Ironman was a swim of 1.9km, bike race of 90.1km and then a 1/2 marathon (21.1km) which Graham completed in a total time of 5:29.10.
In the USA Ronan Luff finished 35th (24.56) for Yale in the 8k B race at the Wisconsin Pre Nationals cross country at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
