Weekend round up: the rest of the action

Aside from the Antrim International Cross Country there were some other events that attracted the interest of Clonliffe athletes over the weekend. The first BHAA cross country race of 2014 was the South Dublin County Council in Tymon Park yesterday. There first Clonliffe man home was Tom Sherlock 13th in 23.33. Others: 30th Anthony Malone 25.14 and 35th Niall Sherlock 25.35.

At today`s Athletics Ireland Indoor league at Antrim IT there was only one Clonliffe athlete in action, great to report that it was Danny Kavanagh back racing again after a number of injury troubled years. Danny won his first 60m race in 7.29 and then went quicker in finishing 4th in the second round recording a time of 7.22.

Earlier in the week Eoin Pierce got his 2014 indoor season off to an excellent start in England with a gun to tape 800m win in a new indoor pb of 1.55.82.
