Youth and experience blend delivers unexpected bronze in Dublin Intermediates

There was a full compliment of eight athletes representing the Club in the Men’s Dublin Intermediate Championships over 10,000M held in the grounds of Newbridge House, Donabate, Co. Dublin on Sunday the 9th of October. With a team made up of promising youth, a couple of seasoned seniors and several over seasoned vets.

Young Michael McDiarmiada ran a superb race to claim individual bronze with an exceptionally strong sprint finish behind DSD’s John Eves in 1st with Paul Campbell of Raheny in 2nd.

Slightly further back there was again a superb performance from super vet David Brennan finishing a very credible 14th.

There was a four way battle for the final two scoring positions with Aidan Creaner being third scorer placing 28th from Maurice McCrohan fourth and final scorer in 31st place. These four were backed up by Stephen Byrne in 33rd, Noel Guiden 34th, Dylan Ahern 37th and Colm Hickey 45th.

The lads were thrilled to find that the club had placed 3rd taking home the bronze medal.

The 1st team were DSD with Rathfarnham 2nd.
