The weekend round up begins in the USA where Clonliffe`s Grahan Mahon was in action for Clarke University in the Brissmann/Lundee Cross Country Invitational which took place at Saukie Golf Course, Rock Island, Illinois on Friday, Sept. 21st. Graham lead the Crusaders home in 147th place in a huge field to place 22nd of the 34 teams taking part.
On the subject of the US interesting to note the results of yesterday`s Fifth Avenue Mile, New York City won by Matthew Centrowitz in 3.52.4. The field featured six athletes who took part in this years Morton Games: 1. Matt Centrowitz, 5. Ryan Gregson (3.53.7), 6th David Torrence (3.53.8), 7th Craig Miller (3.54.2), 8th Elliot Heath (3.54.3), 9th Garreth Heath (3.54.4) and 10th 2011 Morton Mile winner Jordan McNamara (3.56.5)
At this morning`s (Sept. 23rd) Rathfarnham 5K Road Race Brian McMahon after his mountain exploites was first Clonliffe athlete in 10th place in 15.29, next in was Jayme Rossiter 12th (15.37), Ernie Ramsey 28th (16.15) and Mark McDonald 36th (16.27) as the Clonliffe team placed 3rd. Other Clonliffe: Tom Sherlock (16.27), Becky Woods (18.04)
