North Leinster Day 2 brings yet more success for club`s athletes

Today was the final day in the Leinster regions schools track and field in the Morton Stadium with more places in the Leinster finals at stake. The Clonliffe athletes today delivered once again in their school`s colours.

The athletes who have being eyeing up the steeple chase well and truely delivered. No doubt theĀ steeple technical coaching of Jayme Rossister in recent weeks was a major contributory factor as both Hope Saunders, with a time of 5.41 for the 1500scĀ and Brian Flanagan with 4.39 recorded inter wins and Ross Kearney a 2nd in the senior 2,000 in 6.56.

The race walkers also benefited from the vital input of All Ireland school`s Champion and International race walker Ryan Cleary as Niall Norman won the senior walk and Greg Hosseny the inter, and in the process his 10th North Leinster medal. In the junior race walk Sean O`Leary, coached in this discipline by Greg Hosseny, finished 2nd.

Next up on the Road to Tullamore are the Leinster finals in the Morton Stadium on May 14th and 17th.
