With the curtain almost about to drop on the 2014 track & field season here`s the catch up on last week`s happenings in Santry. On Wednesday the 20th the final round of the Dublin Graded Meets took place in the Morton Stadium. With a lot of athletes on their break it was a pretty low key affaire. There were however two Clonliffe wins, Ciara McCallion won the 400 in 56.17 and National Champion Ian Rogers won the pole vault (4.50m). Other Clonliffe included Bernie Byrne, who has set two age group national master`s records (800 and 1500) this summer, 2nd in the B 400 in 67.08, and in the 800 Tom Sherlock ran 2.06.57 and Liam Roarty 2.10.50.
The following night there was a big turnout of over 40 runners in the club`s August Series 5000m won by Abdull Ahi (16.35), 2nd Sean Doran (16.46) and 3rd Conor Keane (16.51). Fastest woman was Bernadette Kiernan (19.15).
