BROTHER CLONLIFFE SCHOOLS CROSS COUNTRY LAUNCHED

The annual Brother Cross Country was launched today. Clonliffe Harriers are delighted to one again present the Brother Clonliffe Schools Cross Country which for the 7th successive year is sponsored by Brother. The event is open to Primary Schools, 5th and 6th classes, and Secondary Schools and will take place in Santry Demesne Parkland at the rear of the Morton Stadium, Santry, on Wednesday October 7th.

The timetable and race distances are as follows:

 

12.30 p.m.        Primary School Girls Race                                                   1,000M

1.00 p.m.        Minor Girls (born on or after 01/07/02)                                 1,000M

Minor Boys (born on or after 01/07/02)                                 1,500M

Junior Girls (born on or after 01/07/01)                                 2,000M

Junior Boys (born on or after 01/07/01)                                 2,500M

Inter Girls (born on or after 01/07/99)                                   2,500M

Inter Boys (born on or after 01/07/99)                                  3,000M

Senior Girls (born on or after 01/07/97)                                 2,500M

Once again there will be individual awards for the top three individuals in each race and team medals for the top three schools in each race. The Lar Byrne Memorial Shield will be presented to the best overall Secondary School.

Thanks to the generous sponorship of Brother, the now world famous Brother Schools Cross Country t-shirt will once again be presented to all finishers.

The event is open to schools strictly by invitation. If your school has previously competed you ought to receive an invitation by way of e-mail however if not, or indeed if your school has not competed previously and you would like to compete in 2015 please e-mail the Race Director Noel Guiden at clonliffeschoolsxc@gmail.com for further details and for an invitation.

There is an entry fee to the event as follows:

Primary Schools entry fee €25.00 to enter a Boys team. Likewise a fee of €25.00 to enter a Girls team.

Secondary School. There is an entry fee of €20.00 per team per event.

There is a maximum allowed of 20 athletes per event from each school. The team result is calculated on the basis of the finishing position of the first four athletes from each school. There will be a set of eight medals presented to the winning school in each event.
