Clonliffe athletes add to points race in Irish Universities win

The Irish Universities match with Scottish Universities took place in the Tallaght Stadium on Saturday June 1^st with a number of Clonliffe athletes competing on the Irish Universities team that defeated their Scottish counterparts overall by 204.5 points to 174.5.

There were wins recorded by Becky Woods in the 1500 metres in a time of 4.35.42 and by Caoimhe Morris in the Hammer with a best of 41.71. Other Clonliffe women competing were Sarah Doyle 4^th in the 100h in 16.76, Snezana Bechtina 2^nd in the 400 60.48, Ashling Ahearn in the 3000m 12.21.39. In the relay Snezana was on the 4 x 400 metre team that finished 2^nd whilst Sarah was on the 4 x 100 team that also placed 2^nd. Paul Whelan finished 2^nd in the 200m 22.48, Andriu Jenkinson was 4^th in the 800 2.00.64, he also ran on the 4 x 400 relay team that finished 2^nd.
